Q: How should I clean my new stainless steel covers?
A: Proper stainless steel care can provide a show quality shine for years to come. #8 mirror finish is just as easy to scratch as your cars paint so you must treat it with the same care. Only clean your Specialized Stainless products with clean micro fiber and a quality polish. We recommend "Mothers Billet Metal Polish". You can find this at most auto parts stores for about $15 per 4oz container (remember a little goes a long way). As an example, to clean a battery cover you would only need a pea sized drop. Lightly rub the polish onto the cover with your micro fiber towel until it is evenly coated. Now move to a clean section on your micro fiber and lightly buff the polish off.
The #4 brushed finish is easier to care for. Since it is a directional polished finish, scratches will be hard to see. I would still recommend the cleaning method above but you won't hurt finish of the brushed Specialized Stainless products with conventional cleaning products.

Q: Can you etch a logo on my stainless cover?
A: Yes, as long as the design is not trademarked. If you have a nick name for your car, you can choose almost any font style and get it etched. Custom things like that are what judges look for and stand out at car shows more than generic logos anyways. Basically, if you came up with the design yourself, we can etch it. If you have some ideas, let us know, chances are we can help you come up with a design you would be happy with.

Q: Can you Powder Coat stainless steel? What about Anodizing?
A: Yes. You can view our powder coating section here. Powder coating can add a unique touch to your stainless covers while offering unparalleled protection and ease of cleanup. Stainless steel can not be anodized but you can get the same effect with candy powder coating (translucent). Candy powder coating is a popular choice with our custom etching because you can still see the etching through the candy colors.

Q: When powder coating brake calipers, do you rebuild them with new parts?
A: We completely disassemble them. We wash and reuse the old parts, unless the customer either provides or buys from us (at cost), new parts. There is no extra labor charge for new parts either.
